Weaselskin Wellness Retreat And Education Center

Weaselskin Wellness Retreat and Education Center's mission is 2 fold. Our priority is to conserve sacred, wild, watershed and agricultural lands in a rapidly developing area of southwest Colorado. While the conservation easement is preserving bio-diverse and regenerative agricultural areas, our services have a community component of bringing people in need of wellness and mental health services to land. Our programs have guests learn how to be in respect of the sacredness of the land, work/live with the land and move away from exploiting or simply existing on land through hands-on experiences with carbon absorbing agroforestry, regenerative farming, organic gardening, classical equines, indigenous sacred sites, old growth forests and critical watersheds.

“There are no unsacred places; there are only sacred places and desecrated places.” Wendell Berry,

The mental health crisis in the US is related to the mass population being completely detached from natural ways of the Earth and the resulting loss of a sense of being part of a natural ecosystem. Detachment from nature has allowed for generational complacency toward environmental destruction and climate change. Healing people alongside healing of land creates a population committed to the sustainable regenerative generation. In the words of Baba Dioum, "In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught." WWREC is the powerful place to teach, heal and create the necessary population of people to sustain a (RE) generation.
