Today we explore common Men's Health concerns, not least of which is Erectile Dysfunction (ED) - with SPECIAL GUEST Mr. Everton Lashley, (roundhaypharmacybarbados@gmail.com) , who is an eminent licensed pharmacist and dear friend and mentor, as he generously discusses and additionally advises on the connection between ED and heart health, it's social impact and relationship dysfunction, as well as the dangers of popular over the counter drugs which may sometimes cause more harm than good.
ED is:

What is ED?
Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is the inability to get and maintain an erection firm enough for sex.
There are many reasons for this happening occasionally, but if erectile dysfunction is an ongoing issue, it can cause distress, affect your self-confidence and create disruption in your intimate relationship
It is not all "down there" , however. ED may actually be a warning sign of serious underlying health conditions that need treatment, including heart disease.
This is because any condition that affects blood flow to the body in general (arteries specifically), may also impede blood flow to the glans penis, hence, ED.
This includes the Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), of hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol, and especially when these are uncontrolled, (heart attack and stroke are just two deadly outcomes).
🛑BUT this is not just "AN OLD PEOPLE's DISEASE":⚠️⚠️

💥💥NOTE: Younger and younger - even males as young as 20s and 30s may have this deadly combination of ED and heart disease!💥💥
ED symptoms might include persistent:

💙Trouble maintaining an erection
💙Reduced sexual desire
There may also be emotional reasons for ED .
Whatever the cause, the issue can so negatively impact your life at all levels, not to mention place you in danger from the afore-mentioned consequences of NCDs.

2/🚶🏽🏃🏽♀️👟Outdoor activities open up lung function, and enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and balance, reducing YOUR risk of frailty, falls (Caregiving -related injury) and chronic conditions such as hypertension and heart disease. You are STRONGER and FITTER!
3/🧘🏽Exercising fosters mental well-being, reduces stress, depression and anxiety (💃🏽) improves mood, and enhances cognitive function, even reducing the risk of dementia later in life ; and who can say NO to THAT!?🙏🏽💯👵🏽🌞
4/ Even if you can just Zoom INDOORS for exercise with friends🫂🫂🫂🫂- you maintain your social connection - true friends are a blessing and GOOD for HEART, MIND and BODY.
5/ Probably the best of all- your SLEEP is better- more restful, with a clear mind, also knowing you did something your body will thank you for!
