There are times when you have to remove the "super cape " of being a loyal, kind, self-sacrificing Caregiver and yet you feel unappreciated, misunderstood, and "unheard". π€π‘π
Fun fact: "you're human". It happens.π€
You're body is NOT breaking down!
It's crying out for "my turn!" Time to hit the mental and emotional "reset" buttonβ±οΈππ
You know the what to do, what keeps drilling in your ears: selfcare, take care of you"; have a self-care routine" .....
And all you're thinking is "HOW?" no sleep, 24 hr a day duty. Where am i going to find the time?
It's not the time, or the love you have; it's the .......
π₯π₯π₯WHY, WHY , WHY exactly is "self-care" so VITAL?
Because, we are our BEST when we have PURPOSE, and getting back to your "why" can go a long way.
Here are 5 WAYS why self care matters:
πππ½ββοΈ1/Your MENTAL and EMOTIONAL HEALTH and stability- your brain and body then feel "taken care of"- reduces the need (most times), for things such as sleep aids, and maybe not so healthy ways of coping.
πππ½ββοΈ2/ Self care reminds you that YOU MATTER, - when you give yourself care, it is SELF-RESPECT and SELF-REGARD - this has been shown to greatly reduce the feelings of resentment and burnout.
πππ½ββοΈ 3/ PHYSICALLY- you are stronger, more healthy, less risk of NCDs such as hypertension - live long and prosper! (For all my fellow "TREKKIES"π€π₯°)
πππ½ββοΈ4/ Feeling better makes the WORK of Caregiving more joyful than painful- it's hard, but doable; positive vibes! The energy in the room!! AWESOME!!π₯
Caregiving is not for the fainthearted, and there are times when you need to let yourself be taken care of.
From my heart to yoursπ

You have done all you can do, and you have been positive; major challenges are manageable, but, sometimes the challenge of adjusting to the new life as a Family Caregiver is more than you can mentally and emotionally bear, and there is constant "cloud" of overwhelm and despair.π’π₯ΉβοΈβοΈ

This is the Final Segment for November- What a month!
PART 2 of 2 - Men's MENTAL HEALTH - Do You Really Need a Therapist?
Sadly, despite the increasing need worldwide of issues concerning men's mental health, seeking "help" is still viewed with stigma and disdain.
WHY??
3 words: STIGMA , FEAR, and SHAME.π€«π₯Ίπ
π΄π½π" REAL men don't go to the doctor; only WEAK men do".
This is one of the MAJOR reasons for men , older and younger, from seeking help, seeking a listening ear, and descending into "depth of despair" and, sadly, suicide and substance abuse continue to escalate as a means of escape.
π·π·π·π·π·Please join me as I am so grateful to discuss these matters with Clinical Psychologist Mr. Krisnan Hurdle who will
π·Review those at risk
π· Describe the many ways that men can (safely and in privacy reach out to a trained therapist for assistance ) and
π·Practical methods and healthy coping strategies which not only improve self-confidence, but also improve the closest and most meaningful relationships in our lives!

I trust that you will find this information vital for you and your friends and family who may be struggling to cope with stressors.
It is a sign of COURAGEπ― , NOT weakness, to reach out when you are overwhelmed.
Remember:
π΄π½ππLISTEN! If your friend or relative is exhibiting any of these signs , listen to the unspoken word; take them seriously (suicide among older persons IS increasing)
π΄π½ππDon't just "bring it up"; start with general conversation and again: ;let them TALK!
π΄π½ππ Form a "men's only community- "MANSHED" - mentor, provide a safe space to talk freely and .... eventually suggest seeking help.
Gents; older or younger:
WE NEED YOU!πππ
YOU MATTER!πππ
What action step will you take TODAY?
πPrevention, Preparation, Protectionπ
Good vibes always!π
