Lana's Little Things #168 -Hurricane Beryl is a' comingπ«¨! πTips For Senior and Family Safety!
Tonight we discuss a seasonal topic that is often overlooked until the last minute- Hurricane preparedness!π
Here are some preparedness tips, especially for seniors , but really for the entire family:
1π/ Is your home safe to stay or do you need to evacuate? Know your Hurricane Shelters and the supplies needed/permitted.
2π/Have a list of those who may assist- and telephone numbers- you may have to evacuate quickly!
3π/A basic supply kit- medications; arrange for those with low mobility ; blood sugar monitoring equipment, hearing aids, eyeglasses and extra batteries.
πCrowding is often expected in shelters, so consider the easy spread of illness, especially among the elderly- to reduce the spread of respiratory viruses such as the flu, pneumonia and COVID-19 while staying in a community shelter consider packing face masks, hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes. three-day supply of water (one gallon per day per person), food (non-perishable food)

πLet's just take a breath and "absorb" 2023!!ππ€π€ππ½
Did you have a lot of "detours" just to get through?ππ£π½ββοΈπ£π½ββοΈπ©οΈ
The best-laid plans go awry so often, it seems as if it doesn't even make sense to plan at all (but we must plan if we are to have any sort of goal/ direction, right?).
With that said - what to do?
Have a plan-- A , B , C and even D, E, F!!! ( seriously!)π‘π‘
Having only one plan is like having only one door for entry and exit- not a great idea-π π½ββοΈππͺ
How can this help you to feel empowered?- It can reduce the anxiety of "what if something goes wrong? (which is all too true!). You know what to do / who to call for help if needed, or just have it as a backup.
Test it out please!ππ½ππ½
Leave in the comments- did it work? What already works for you?ππ½
All the best to another amazing year 2024!!! (each of us will have a version of what "amazing" really means for sure!π₯π₯π₯π²π―)
From my heart to yours!π
